Farmers Bank & Trust Donates Books to Support Education and Literacy

Farmers Bank & Trust (FB&T) is proud to announce its latest initiative to support local education by donating 450 hardcover books to Texarkana Arkansas School District elementary students. The donation aligns with FB&T’s core values of HEART (Honor, Excellence, Adaptability, Respect, and Teamwork) and the bank’s mission to enrich students’ lives and enhance education within its communities.

FB&T representatives joined school administrators, teachers, and students at North Heights Community School Library on Wednesday, September 18, to celebrate the donation. Sarah Medley from PaperPie Books sourced the books, which span a variety of topics and reading levels. These books will directly support student academic growth and foster a love for reading.

“At Farmers Bank & Trust, we believe education is a cornerstone of a thriving community,” said James Bramlett, Texarkana Market President of Farmers Bank & Trust. “With these books, we hope to inspire young minds to explore new horizons and foster a lifelong love of learning.”

TASD students can take the donated books home to support the school’s literacy curriculum and extracurricular reading. Texarkana School District Superintendent Dr. Lloyd Jackson expressed gratitude for the donation, noting its positive impact on the student’s learning experience.

“This generous donation from Farmers Bank & Trust highlights the vital role of school-community partnerships in fostering student success. It will have a significant, lasting impact on the lives of our students. We are deeply grateful for their continued support, which helps to create more opportunities for our students to thrive,” he said.
