Podcast Episode 42 – Wild Encounters and Big Plans: Exploring Beavers Bend Safari Park

One of Beavers Bend Safari Park owners, Errin Hugghins, with Rhonnie the Rhino.

In this episode, we take you on an adventure to Beavers Bend Safari Park, a family-owned wildlife park in Hochatown, Oklahoma. Nestled just north of Broken Bow, this 90-acre safari park is home to over 30 animal species and more than 200 animals, including rhinos, kangaroos, zebras, lemurs, and bison. Visitors can enjoy a scenic 1.8-mile drive-through experience, feeding animals like ostriches, deer, and antelope along the way.

During the interview, one of the park’s founders shared insights into the park’s origins, how they care for their diverse range of animals and exciting plans for the future. You’ll also learn about their special Rhonnie the Rhino experience, where guests feed the resident rhino bread—an unforgettable encounter that visitors say is “worth every second.”

We also discuss how Beavers Bend Safari Park significantly boosts local tourism and fosters wildlife conservation while creating meaningful animal interactions for families and visitors.
